Glass House Collective is a non profit in E Chattanooga that has been using community members and artists to grow and strengthen undeserved communities. For the past 10 years, we have been having a yearly block party on the main stretch of Glass st. "Glass Street Live" is a celebration of local artists and culture.
It is a family friendly event that is heavily participatory: lots of stuff for kids, tons of art projects and entertainment, and also a substantial amount of community input for good things happening in the area.
In order to get this huge event ready, we need the help of folks through volunteering!
- Helping set up stage, signage, directing vendors to their booths
- Helping with activities- giant jenga, face painting, live murals, etc
- Safety and parking
- Helping tear down and clean up
*Working as a volunteer in years past, I would certainly say that this was a blast. So many folks from all over the city celebrating art and culture in really engaging ways.
