Description

Volunteers can assist with making adaptive switches for children's Christmas toys. This is to allow toys to be more accessible for children with disabilities. This task requires experience or knowledge with electrical wiring and use of heavy  machinery.


Volunteers will be cutting plywood to create electronic circuits. They will also be using a soldering iron as well. An employee of Signal Centers Assistive Technology program will train volunteers about how to create the switches before they begin. 


Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and wear clothes that are comfortable for movement and labor-intensive work. Volunteers may also want to bring gloves. 


Parking will be located in the lot of the Signal Centers building you will be volunteering at:  2300 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga, 37404.
