Description

Suicide is the SECOND leading cause of death for youth ages 10-14. With September Being National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, we want to extend an opportunity for the community of Chattanooga to be a part of our (BE)KIND INITIATIVE. In partnership with local Chattanooga coffee shop (Be) Caffeinated, Sydney and Brayden Guerrette share their music and their own mental health stories with youth across the state of Tennessee. Part of this program includes writing encouraging notes on coffee sleeves that (Be) Caffeinated will use in their shops. The instructions are simple:

When you're having a really bad day, what words of encouragement would help make your day better?

We are hoping to complete 5,000 coffee sleeves during the Day of Caring 2023. Some of the coffee sleeves will be taken into elementary schools for young students to add their artistic touches because the message of mental health awareness is becoming more and more important for younger students in our community. Whether you can come for 30 minutes or can hang out with us the whole day, we'd LOVE to connect with people in the community who also want to learn more about our work in Chattanooga.
