For 35 years, Assistive Technology (AT) Services, a program of Signal Centers, has worked to eliminate barriers by empowering individuals with disabilities to navigate a technology-driven world with greater independence. Assistive technology includes any tool or device that enhances independence and improves quality of life.
As AT approaches its 35th anniversary, we are seeking volunteers to help refresh and revitalize the center in celebration of this milestone! With a little TLC, we can ensure the space reflects the innovation and empowerment that define the program’s impact.
Some volunteer tasks for this project may include:
- Organize and label Assistive Technology (AT) devices to improve accessibility and efficiency
- Inventory and streamline AT promotional materials
- Refresh and organize the Rehab/Kitchen supply closet
- Sort and categorize equipment and tools in the computer workspace to enhance functionality
Our recommended group size for this project is 5-7 volunteers.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and closed-toe shoes. Please choose attire that you don’t mind getting a little messy. Moderate lifting may be required for certain tasks.
Assistive Technology Services is located at 2300 Bailey Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404. Parking is available on-site, though space may be limited. Carpooling is encouraged when possible.
While water will be available, volunteers are welcome to bring their own water bottle if preferred.
Thank you so much for considering our project, as well as your support of Assistive Technology Services!
