This is a great opportunity for families and groups to get involved and help out their community! Just please let us know (email ckey@crabtreefarms.org) if you will be bringing anyone under the age of 16, so we can plan accordingly. ALL PARTICIPANTS (no matter the age) MUST HAVE THEIR OWN ELECTRONIC WAIVER SIGNED, AND ANYONE UNDER 18 MUST HAVE ONE SIGNED BY THEIR PARENT OR GUARDIAN. Greenhouse Greatness
Help us prepare for a bountiful growing season and care for our cherished plants with these hands-on activities:
- Mulch Masters (5-8 people): Get physical and make an impact! Help lay cardboard and mulch in the Mother Garden to prep for spring planting. Medium-heavy lifting required. Bonus: You'll be working with the fabulous herbalist and permaculturist Sarah, who makes the work fly by!
- Perennial Posse (3-4 people): Love plants but prefer a lighter lift? Repot perennials alongside our expert Annemarie and some weekly volunteers. This can be a standing or sitting task-your choice!
- Seed Sorting Squad (1-3 people): Perfect for those who like to sit and chat while making a difference! Sort through old seed packets for donation. Easy, meditative, and oh-so-important.
New Community Garden Projects
We’re expanding and improving our community garden spaces and need 5 additional volunteers to help with these essential tasks:
- Weeding the existing community garden area
- Cleaning up and organizing the current community garden
- Prepping the new community garden area for future plantin
Evelyn Center Glow-Up
Help us get our beloved Evelyn Center sparkling clean and ready to shine in 2025!
- Rafter Ninjas (2-4 people): Channel your inner gymnast (or just your ladder skills) and help us clean up high in the rafters. It’s a workout and a rewarding task all in one!
- Organizational Wizards (1-2 people): Transform our closets, cupboards, and bathrooms into models of order and efficiency. If you love a good before-and-after, this one's for you.
- Bathroom Heroes (1-2 people): A deep-cleaning mission for the brave and bold. Make our bathrooms shine brighter than ever!
- Window Whisperers (1-2 people): Bring clarity to our spaces by cleaning windows and mirrors. You'll also be removing screens to give them a thorough wash-satisfaction guaranteed.
What to Bring: Gloves, sturdy shoes, water bottles, and your incredible energy!
