Want to spend a day outside doing something genuinely fun and meaningful? Join us for Tennessee’s Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day at Booker T. Washington State Park on Saturday, June 6 starting at 9 AM and help make this event unforgettable for local families and kids. We’re teaming up with National Park Partners and Outdoor Chattanooga for a FREE community fishing celebration, and we need volunteers who are down to get their hands a little dirty and have a lot of fun doing it. Volunteer roles may include helping kids bait hooks (yes, worms involved), assisting first-time anglers, supporting our Junior Ranger activities, and keeping the good vibes going throughout the day. Perks: Free lunch from Smokin for Jesus starting at 11:30 AM Time outdoors by the water Being part of a collaborative community event Watching kids catch their very first fish Event highlights you’ll help bring to life: Free fishing rods for the first 100 young anglers Junior Ranger Angler badges and activity booklets Family Fishing Tournament Raptor Aviary and park exploration TWRA educational presentation Whether you’re an experienced angler or just willing to jump in and help, we’d love to have you.
