Who We Are
Mission: To support individuals with autism and their families.
Chattanooga Autism Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves autistic individuals of all ages. The Center promotes inclusion and acceptance of autistic individuals and provides services, resources, and education to the community.
Vision: We aspire to create a world where all autistic people are accepted, included, respected, have equitable access to opportunities, and a true sense of belonging.
History & Growth: The CAC started in 2009, when a group of local parents desired better services, education, support, and awareness in the Chattanooga community. These volunteers developed a workshop series, autism conference, and a network of support. In 2012, the CAC received its 501(c)(3) status and opened an outpatient clinic. The Chattanooga Autism Center has grown from a small group of parents and volunteers into a multifaceted organization with an increasing presence in the community. The clinic has served hundreds of clients, and the entire organization serves thousands of people annually. CAC staff and volunteers are involved in multiple community initiatives, including providing training to medical professionals, law enforcement officers, educators, and others in the Chattanooga area. The CAC continues to grow because of the help and support of people in our community.
