Who We Are
Mission: To brighten the lives of those in need.
Flower the People is a Chattanooga nonprofit that collects excess flowers from florists and events to distribute to nursing homes and other public facilities.
Flower the People started in the winter of 2022 when Trevor Phillips realized the dumpster outside of a wholesale florist was overflowing with flowers. Along with his neighbor, he had the bright idea to take them to a nursing home, where they distributed them to the patients. The florist, after hearing about what he was doing, offered to call him whenever they were cleaning out their cooler. Flower the People now serves over forty nursing homes in three different cities, made possible by a group of generous volunteers and florists.
What We Do
Flower the People collects leftover flowers from events and florists and distributes them to nursing homes, schools, and other public spaces. Their goal is to bring joy to those who may not often experience such gestures, while involving the community in a simple act of kindness. Volunteers help with flower collection and distribution, ensuring that the beauty of flowers reaches those in need.
