Who We Are
Mission: To foster a love for outdoor recreation and nature exploration, both for residents and visitors of Chattanooga.
Outdoor Chattanooga is a division of the City of Chattanooga’s Parks and Outdoors Department, established in 2004. Our goal is to inspire a love for outdoor recreation through adventure sports, nature exploration, and community partnerships. We promote a healthy lifestyle by making outdoor activities accessible to all, regardless of background or ability.
What We Do
Outdoor Chattanooga offers various programs and events designed to introduce the public to outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, climbing, and paddling. These activities are intended to improve outdoor skills and foster a connection to nature. Additionally, Outdoor Chattanooga provides resources to help locals and visitors navigate Chattanooga’s diverse outdoor offerings, from guided adventures to information about local green spaces.
Outdoor Chattanooga also plays a key role in enhancing the region’s outdoor infrastructure, including maintaining and promoting the area’s natural resources, which contributes to the region’s economy. We work with a network of local partners to support our mission and organize events that highlight Chattanooga’s outdoor opportunities
