Who We Are
Mission: To create a positive and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Originally a Chattanooga City Public School, Orchard Knob Junior High School was opened in 1961. After the merger of Chattanooga City and Hamilton County Schools in 1997, Orchard Knob Junior High School became Orchard Knob Middle School.
What We Do
By the end of the eighth grade, we work to ensure that every Orchard Knob Middle School student will have met his/her fullest academic potential and be ready to transition to the next stage of learning by displaying a sense of responsibility and respect for self and others. Our School-Wide Positive Behavior Support System, along with our open door policy, enhances the relationship between the community, faculty/staff, and students.
Orchard Knob strives to provide:
- A student-centered program
- A supportive, caring environment
- An accepting of personal responsibilities
- A respect and consideration for all
- A positive attitude toward school
- A clear academic challenge
- A curriculum to ensure success
- A continuous learning process
- A community of life-long learners
