Who We Are
Mission: To help older adults and people with disabilities live with dignity and choices in their homes and communities.
At the Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability, we are dedicated to serving a diverse and vibrant community across ten counties: Bledsoe, Bradley, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea, and Sequatchie. Our commitment is to individuals who are aging or living with disabilities in these regions, ensuring they have access to the highest quality of life possible.
The goal of SETAAAD is to advocate for and to strive to achieve a system of services that allows older persons and persons with disabilities the opportunity for an independent and productive lifespan. This is accomplished through three primary areas of emphasis: Advocacy, Service, and Planning.
What We Do
SETAAAD has a variety of volunteer-supported programs including:
- Home Delivered Meals Services (Meal of Wheels) provides hot meals to people’s homes. Meals on Wheels is more than just a meal, it is a vital lifeline for our Seniors.
- MyRide TN Southeast provides volunteer assisted transportation to essential appointments for adults 60 and older who are able to walk independently or with a walker or cane.
- Public Guardian Friendly Visitors volunteers are paired with a guardianship client and spend time with them each month. Volunteers also build relationships with clients, helping ease isolation and depression often present in older adults.
These programs are volunteer-supported and provide vital services to enhance the quality of life of adults 60 and older and adults with disabilities in our communities.
