Processor Assistant
Reports To: The thrift team leader or the volunteer coordinator.
Job Overview: The processor assistant will assist with determining the quality of clothing donations and prepare them for resale. The process will include inspecting donated clothing, determining quality, placing clothing on hangers, and hanging the clothing on racks. The sales from these items are how the Samaritan Center funds itself making it possible to provide emergency assistance to the people in the community.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- The processor assistant will sign in upon arrival and sign out upon departure.
- Assistants will process clothing by inspecting the donations and determining their quality.
- Upon quality determination, the assistant will place clothing on allocated hangers and hang on racks.
- Set items aside if they fail inspection.
Qualifications:
- The processor assistant hours are flexible. Availability is Monday-Thursday from 9-12 or 1-5. We request that volunteers take at least a two-hour shift. Longer shifts are possible upon request.
- Ability to stand, lift (only what is comfortable), bend, pull, push, attention to detail, and repetitive motion.
- The work area is air-conditioned.
