Are you looking for a long-term and meaningful volunteer opportunity? Volunteer with Bridge Refugee Services and become a youth mentor!
Help newcomer youths in the Chattanooga community work towards their educational, vocational, and personal goals. Volunteer mentors will be paired with a youth between the ages of 15 and 24. Each volunteer will work with their mentee for a period of 6 months, meeting for 4 hours every month, to help them accomplish their goals and better integrate into the Chattanooga community. Our mentoring program is a long-term opportunity where volunteers can make a profound impact on a young person’s life, form a meaningful relationship, and learn more about the resettlement process.
Requirements:
21 years or older
Complete volunteer orientation (1.5 hours), background check, mentor interview, and mentor program training (2 hours)
Meet with mentee for 4 hours a month for a 6 month period
Submit weekly online reports
Communicate regularly with program coordinator and conduct monthly check-in calls
Attend optional monthly mentor meet-ups and quarterly group events
If you have any questions, please reach out to our program coordinator Sarah Pedersen via email: spedersen@bridgerefugees.org.
