Who We Are

Mission: To celebrate the art of cinema by showcasing a wide array of independent, genre, and international films.

The Chattanooga Film Festival (CFF) began in 2009 as a grassroots film club, Mise En Scenesters (MES), with a mission to bring great cinema to Chattanooga by any means necessary. Starting with pop-up screenings in unconventional venues, the club quickly grew into a beloved community initiative. MES evolved into a full-scale, multi-day film festival dedicated to showcasing independent, classic, and genre cinema that otherwise wouldn’t have a platform in the city. Today, CFF is a nonprofit organization driven by a passion for film, storytelling, and community.

What We Do

The Chattanooga Film Festival celebrates cinema in all its forms, bringing diverse stories to life through:

  • Film Screenings: Curating a multi-day festival featuring independent, classic, and genre films from around the world.
  • Education and Workshops: Offering free classes and workshops that inspire and support aspiring filmmakers and storytellers.
  • Community Engagement: Partnering with local venues and organizations to foster a thriving film culture in Chattanooga.
  • Year-Round Programming: Expanding access to unique and impactful films with events like the Frightening Ass Film Festival, a Halloween horror event.

Every dollar raised through donations, grants, and ticket sales fuels CFF’s goal to enrich Chattanooga’s film culture and inspire future generations of filmmakers. By sharing stories, celebrating creativity, and nurturing a love for cinema, the Chattanooga Film Festival continues to be a vital force in the city’s cultural landscape.
