Who We Are

Mission: To end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

The Alzheimer’s Association Tennessee Chapter provides support services, care options and education for families and caregivers in Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis. Our vision is a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia.

What We Do

Tennessee Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Groups: The Alzheimer’s Association holds local support groups for caregivers and individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, from Nashville to Knoxville. The Alzheimer’s Association works to bring care and support to every community so that no one has to face dementia alone. Support groups create a safe, confidential and supportive environment. They give a chance for participants to develop mutual support and social relationships.

Education and Resources: As the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research, the Alzheimer’s Association provides educational programs near Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis for people living with dementia and their caregivers. Available online and in person, our free education programs feature the latest information on dementia-related topics, including living with Alzheimer’s disease, caregiver training and more.

Advocacy: Advocates in Tennessee write emails, attend local policy events, post to social media, and meet with their elected officials across Tennessee and Washington, D.C. They take action to urge lawmakers to pass bipartisan legislation that helps families living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia and to ask for more research funding to end this disease — once and for all.

Tennessee-Based Resources for Professionals: The Alzheimer’s Association partners with professionals in Tennessee to address the Alzheimer’s crisis in each community and improve the lives of people living with dementia and their caregivers. Find information, tools, resources and opportunities for those working in the field of Alzheimer’s and dementia care, including professional researchers, health systems and medical professionals, professional care providers, public health professionals, and first responders.
