Who We Are
Mission: To build the village that propels two-generations to shatter statistics with pregnant students and single moms in college & their children.
The Momentum Network is made up of volunteers, professionals and businesses that recognize the ability to transform two generations at a time when we come alongside young, pregnant/parenting women in college as they work to build a better future for their children through higher education.
Poverty, crime, domestic violence, abortion, depression, and other major community issues disproportionately affect children of single moms and often continue for generations. We know the statistics, but we know that with long-term, holistic support, moms can dare to be exceptional and change the trajectory of their family’s future for generations to come.
We believe that Christians have a directive to care for the fatherless and the lonely. While our leadership team are committed to live their lives for Jesus, we utilize biblical principles to show kindness and care for moms and serve with volunteers from a variety of religious and non-religious backgrounds.
What We Do
It takes a village to raise a child. We’re building a network that can be the village that helps young pregnant and parenting mothers in college shatter statistics to graduate with a degree that will lead to a living wage job. More than just getting them across the stage at graduation, we’re equipping them for the rest of their lives by teaching them to connect, grow and lead.
Supports include:
- Membership for pregnant students and single moms in college that include: peer network, coaching, free and discounted services.
- Free Meals for moms & kids with an option to stay for a Bible study and Developmental Activities for the kids
- Training for traditional students, mentors, and peers on how to care for single moms and students with unplanned pregnancies.
- Housing at our Scholar Village for qualifying scholars who have gone through our MPower program.
