Safe Families for Children is a program of Bethany Christian Services, a global nonprofit serving children and families for more than 80 years. Together, we believe every child deserves to be safe and every family deserves the opportunity to thrive.

Safe Families for Children mobilizes compassionate volunteers, churches, and community partners to surround families experiencing temporary crises with practical support, meaningful relationships, and short-term care for children when needed. Rather than replacing parents, we come alongside them, helping families navigate challenges while keeping children safe and together whenever possible.

Through the leadership and support of Bethany Christian Services, Safe Families combines a trusted child and family service organization with a community-driven network of volunteers committed to strengthening families and preventing unnecessary foster care.

Through hosting, mentoring, friendship, and practical support, we help parents navigate challenges while keeping children safe and preventing unnecessary foster care placements. Our goal is to strengthen families, preserve parent-child relationships, and connect families with the resources and relationships they need to thrive.

Volunteers play a vital role by opening their homes, encouraging parents, meeting tangible needs, and walking alongside families during difficult seasons. Together, we create a network of hope, belonging, and support that helps families overcome crisis and build lasting stability.
