Needs From: United Way's Volunteer Center

Volunteer: Spring DOC 2026-Chattanooga Room in the Inn- "Plant the Seed of Kindness"

Volunteers will help put together our new garden beds (4 in total) and fill them with soil and fertilizer for our Child Enrichment Program. These garden beds will give kids the chance to get hands-on with gardening, learn where food comes from, and take pride in caring for something over time.

The garden will be used during enrichment activities to support learning around science, nutrition, teamwork, and responsibility. It also provides a calming outdoor space where kids can slow down, explore, and build confidence as they watch their plants grow.

Volunteers are needed to assemble four new garden beds and plant vegetables in the rear area; refresh the current garden beds in front area; and sanitize toys/books and dining room area

What should volunteers wear?
Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty, along with closed-toe shoes.

Do they need to bring anything?
Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and sunscreen. All necessary tools will be provided, but feel free to bring personal gardening gloves.

Where should they park?

Volunteers may park in the main parking lot behind the building, and street parking in the front of the building is available as well.
