Needs From: United Way's Volunteer Center

Each year, the YMCA provides meals to at-risk youth across our service areas. More than 400,000 nutritious meals are prepared and served annually at over 80 sites in Chattanooga, Cleveland, and North Georgia. This impact is made possible through the dedication of the invaluable support of volunteers.

You have the opportunity in helping prepare and pack these meals with us on Friday, September 18th from 9:00am-12:00pm. We also have the need to spruce up our grounds outside of the branch, with mulching and some pruning of hedges. And there just might be time to do some washing and detailing to our YMCA delivery vans.

Background/About Program:

To address hunger in our communities, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga is partnering with the USDA's Food Service Program to help provides free meals to children aged up to 18 during the summer and after school hours.

What do we need:

The YMCA is looking for Volunteers and Teams to prepare meals daily. 
Join us at the Y with our Food & Fun Program.

We have openings Monday-Friday anytime between 8am-2pm.The shifts are flexible but we ask that you be available to volunteer for at least 2 hours. Saturday mornings are available by appointment only, for a minimum of ten volunteers. 

We need volunteers to help us prepare these healthy meals to send out to the kids of the Chattanooga area! 

We prepare and make all of the meals ourselves at our Food & Fun Kitchen. It is very easy and fun! Examples of task are making sandwiches, bagging up veggies, bagging up meal items, etc. Without helping hands like yours these meals would not get prepared and sent out to kids in need of a healthy meal. Please consider volunteering with the YMCA’s Food & Fun Program. Any one is welcome to volunteer!
