Volunteer: Trail Work DayLula Lake Land Trust protects and manages over 4,000 acres on Lookout Mountain, GA. With a dedicated team of just five staff members, we rely on passionate volunteers to help care for and maintain this incredible land of high conservation value! Join us for a trail work day on the Moonshine Trail system! Help with essential maintenance and get hands-on experience building a brand-new trail. You’ll work alongside our Land Manager to create a full loop, leaving a lasting impact for hikers and mountain bikers to enjoy for generations. Location: We will meet at Lula Lake's Core Preserve property at: 5000 Lula Lake Rd., Lookout Mountain, GA 30750Meeting Time: We will leave to hike back to the work site promptly at 9:30 am. If possible, please arrive a little early to go over introductions and safety procedures. Wear: We recommend wearing long pants to protect against ticks and poison ivy. Pair them with any comfortable, weather-appropriate shirt you don't mind getting a little dirty. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes since we'll be hiking in the forest. Bring: Please bring plenty of drinking water in your own water bottle as there is no drinking water source on site. If you are allergic to bee stings or anything else in nature, please carry your own EpiPen as we do not carry one on site. Optional items are: bug spray, sunscreen, snacks, or lunch.
