Volunteer: Deaf Services Holiday Food DriveThis holiday season, many Deaf, Deaf-Blind, and Hard of Hearing families in our community are facing a difficult reality. Recent reductions in federal assistance programs have left gaps that make it harder than ever for these neighbors to put food on the table, especially during a time meant for warmth, togetherness, and celebration. The challenges of isolation and communication barriers often mean these families go unseen and underserved, intensifying the impact of food insecurity. That’s why we are inviting our community, sponsors, and stakeholders to come together and make a real difference by supporting our Holiday Food Drive. Your generosity can help provide complete meal boxes, grocery gift cards, or essential canned and boxed foods, ensuring that families in need have the comfort of a nourishing holiday meal. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly to local families, sending a clear message that they are valued and cared for. By contributing, you’re not just filling plates—you’re lifting spirits, spreading hope, and helping ensure no one goes hungry this season. Please consider dropping off your donations at Partnership Deaf Services now through January, or contact us at DeafServices@PartnershipFCA.com to learn more or sign up to help. Together, we can make the holidays brighter and give the gift of hope to those who need it most. Thank you for being the difference in our community! Volunteer: Adopt-A-Meal at Ronald McDonald HouseAt Ronald McDonald House, we aim to make families feel "at home" while their children are receiving care in the hospital by providing warm, home-cooked meals during their stay. If you'd like to provide some relief to families enduring a medical crisis, you can "Adopt-A-Meal"! Here's how it works: You bring your group (family, church, club, company, organization, etc.) You provide the ingredients*You come to the Ronald McDonald House to prepare the meal for all of our House guests (around 60 people, depending on our current capacity) on-site, in our Great KitchenYou may also stick around to plate and serve the families at mealtime, if you'd like!*Groups who are unable to provide their own ingredients may still be able to Adopt A Meal. Talk to Melissa about alternative options. You also have the option to order food from a store or restaurant, if you have the budget for that. For more details or to schedule a date to participate in the volunteer activity, please contact Melissa Miburn at Melissa.Milburn@rmhchattanooga.com More info from Melissa: The group would start with the idea of which meal slot would work best for them ( breakfast, lunch, or dinner) and then we would look for open dates on our meal calendar. Most of the groups keep the number of volunteers around 6-8 people due to the size of the kitchen space and to help keep the families from being overwhelmed when they come into the kitchen for the meal. The actual meal prepared would need to be made on site in the Great Kitchen or purchased from either a grocery store or restaurant. The Great Kitchen is stocked with an assortment of pots and pans, cooking utensils, serving utensils and plates/ utensils for the families to eat off. The meal is prepared buffet style that the families can then help themselves to during the allotted meal time and then whatever food is left over, that is placed in our re-heatable containers that the families can reheat when they return from the hospital. Volunteer: Dinner ClubDinnertime is special here at Welcome Home. It's a sacred time where our residents, volunteers, and staff can come together to share a delicious meal and open conversation. We could use your help. Typically, our team is rather held up with caregiving and could use some help with providing meals for our residents. On average, we have around 12 people attending dinner or taking meals in their homes. The residents love when they get to spend time with the folks bringing their meals, but it's definitely not a requirement to stay. Dinner is typically served around 5:30PM. You can drop off the day before/day of or cook in our kitchen. Meal examples include Publix fried chicken, casseroles, BBQ, soups, Chinese food, etc. Agency: Welcome Home of Chattanooga Dinnertime is special here at Welcome Home.
