Have fun helping older adults discover digital literacy! Southeast TN Area Agency on Aging and Disability (SETAAAD) is partnering with Tech Goes Home Tennessee (TGH) to increase digital literacy in older adults, decrease social isolation and improve digital access and connectivity.

SETAAAD is seeking volunteers to assist older adults in learning how to use Chromebooks. Each 15- hour class has a Trainer with ten class participants. Assist the Trainer and class by providing one-on-one attention while the Trainer instructs the class.

Requirements: Collaborative with strong communication and customer skills. Positive, encouraging and patient with technical skills and desire to help others learn.

Adopt a meal route at our Home Delivered Meal Program and build stronger teams! By volunteering with the purpose to help others, you help each other by becoming exceptional together.

Drivers deliver hot meals to people’s homes who would otherwise do without. We invite families, groups, companies and organizations to volunteer and rotate their schedule. Each team member has an opportunity to support each other while building a better community.

Volunteers are leading the way with purpose!

Volunteers are an important part of the Public Guardianship for the Elderly
program. Individuals provide support to SETAAAD's guardianship program by
volunteering as a Friendly Visitor. As a Friendly Visitor, volunteers are paired with
a guardianship client and spend time with them each month. The role of volunteers is
beneficial to the operations of the program as an extra set of eyes of the client to
identify any needs or concerns which otherwise may go unnoticed between
visits by the district public guardian. Volunteers also build relationships with
clients, helping ease isolation and depression often present in older adults.

Volunteer drivers provide a vital service for adults, 60 years or older, through MyRide Tennessee Southeast, a senior transportation program in Bradley, Hamilton and Sequatchie Counties. We provide door-through-door transportation for essential trips. This program helps older adults who can walk on their own or with assistance from a walker or cane with transportation.  

Make a difference, one ride at a time!  MyRide TN Southeast is accepting applications for Volunteers to assist older adults with essential trips to the grocery store, pharmacy, bank and doctors’ appointments.
