Needs From: United Way's Volunteer Center

Any groups looking for a project that can be done in a few hours?

We would love to have you host an event.  What kind of event? For example:

*An art activity for children.

*Cook or bring breakfast or lunch for families.

*Host a play date for children.

*Host a spa day for Moms.

*Teach a class

 

There are many activities that can be hosted.  We just want the families living in our shelter program to have activities to participate in on the weekends. These events can be once a month or however your group chooses.  

Family Promise of Greater Chattanooga exists to assist and help stabilize homeless and near-homeless families in the Greater Chattanooga area.  We are looking for front-desk volunteers that will perform duties such as:

Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately Notifies agency personnel of visitor arrival Maintains security and telecommunications system Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring logbook

 

The skills that we are looking for in potential volunteers are those with:

Telephone skills Verbal communication Listening Professionalism Customer focus Organization Informing others

In addition, a video orientation and application will need to be completed for each volunteer.
