LIFT accomplishes this by providing TWO Youth Centers to serve 6th-12th grade Catoosa County students with a free afterschool program. Our vision is a community where students discover and achieve a healthy, successful future. Between the two centers we hope to serve 500 students this school year. On 4/17 a group will work at our Youth Center in Ringgold to help it shine! We'll do some landscaping (weed control, mulching and pine straw), do some deep cleaning of the inside and outside of the Youth Center, wash and detail our vans, and pick up any trash we can find around the property. It is difficult to find the time to accomplish these tasks, so these volunteers spending this time helping us take good care of our physical plant is a big gift! Agency: LIFT Youth Center, Inc. Volunteer: Tackle Invasive Plants at the 2026 Weed Wrangle! The yearly Weed Wrangle is upon us! Weed Wrangle is a one-day volunteer effort that rescues our public parks and green spaces from non-native invasive species through the hands-on removal of harmful trees, vines, and flowering plants. Beyond our local efforts here in Chattanooga, volunteers across the state (and nation!) will gather together to make a difference one weed at a time. Supervised by an expert in invasive weed management, Weed Wrangle volunteers learn, practice and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of non-native invasive plants and encourage replanting with natives in removal areas. By engaging our neighbors and challenging them to take action in their own spaces, we hope to create a movement that will have the greatest impact on the invasive plant population. This year, volunteers will be gripping, ripping, chopping, and lopping away at weeds around the Greenway Farm dog park. We need your help, as invasive plant species are doing what they do best- invading our parks and siphoning resources form native flora and fauna. The nitty-gritty details: Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardianPlease wear closed-toed shoes, pants, and a long-sleeve shirtWe recommend bringing a reusable water bottleParking is located across from the Greenway Farm Dog ParkIn the event of inclement weather, we may cancel or rescheduleAgency: Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors The yearly Weed Wrangle is upon us! Volunteer: Spring DOC 2026 Adopt-A-Meal Lunch at Ronald McDonald House ChattanoogaTHE NEED Ronald McDonald House provides a "home away from home" for families of children receiving medical care. Our facility offers 28 full bedrooms (each with its own full bathroom), daily meals, community kitchens, laundry facilities, play areas for children, access to mental healthcare and wellness programs to promote each family's well-being, and more — all at no cost to them, and with no time limit: families may stay with us until their child's treatment ends. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a volunteer group to "Adopt-A-Lunch" on April 17th. Your volunteer group would provide the ingredients and prepare the meal on-site in our Great Kitchen, making about 30 servings of food. You also have the option of ordering food from a restaurant. If your group is not able to provide all of the ingredients, we can meet you halfway by drawing from our pantry for basic ingredients like pasta, rice, flour, etc. HOW MANY VOLUNTEERS? The ideal group size is no larger than 9 people (that's how many people can comfortably fit in our kitchen). For a larger group (max. 20 people), you may consider doing a combination of Adopt-A-Meal and Chore Cart, which entails basic cleaning around the House (wiping surfaces, sweeping, trash pickup around the property, etc.). The group can be divided between Adopt-A-Meal and Chore-Cart during the allotted time. Please be aware that parking spots are limited, so larger groups are strongly encouraged to carpool. Volunteer: Adopt-A-Meal at Ronald McDonald HouseAt Ronald McDonald House, we aim to make families feel "at home" while their children are receiving care in the hospital by providing warm, home-cooked meals during their stay. If you'd like to provide some relief to families enduring a medical crisis, you can "Adopt-A-Meal"! Here's how it works: You bring your group (family, church, club, company, organization, etc.) You provide the ingredients*You come to the Ronald McDonald House to prepare the meal for all of our House guests (around 60 people, depending on our current capacity) on-site, in our Great KitchenYou may also stick around to plate and serve the families at mealtime, if you'd like!*Groups who are unable to provide their own ingredients may still be able to Adopt A Meal. Talk to Melissa about alternative options. You also have the option to order food from a store or restaurant, if you have the budget for that. For more details or to schedule a date to participate in the volunteer activity, please contact Melissa Miburn at Melissa.Milburn@rmhchattanooga.com More info from Melissa: The group would start with the idea of which meal slot would work best for them ( breakfast, lunch, or dinner) and then we would look for open dates on our meal calendar. Most of the groups keep the number of volunteers around 6-8 people due to the size of the kitchen space and to help keep the families from being overwhelmed when they come into the kitchen for the meal. The actual meal prepared would need to be made on site in the Great Kitchen or purchased from either a grocery store or restaurant. The Great Kitchen is stocked with an assortment of pots and pans, cooking utensils, serving utensils and plates/ utensils for the families to eat off. The meal is prepared buffet style that the families can then help themselves to during the allotted meal time and then whatever food is left over, that is placed in our re-heatable containers that the families can reheat when they return from the hospital.
